This place is 5/5! Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Their service is top tier. They gave us extra pieces of sashimi and special dishes from the chef. I wish I didn’t live so far away. Presentation and quality of fish was superb. If you are a sushi lover and in the area, this is hands down the best sushi! Recommend the butter salmon, it is not what it sounds like. It’s still raw and chilled.

Decent little Japanese restaurant in the seal beach area. The highlight was a salmon skin salad that was bigger than expected with a delicious dressing. I had ordered Yakisoba but was informed 20 minutes later it was unavailable sadly. I tried the spicy miso ramen instead. It was super spicy. I love a good spicy dish but couldnt finish this because the heat. The noodles were very tasty in this dish . Husband had some hand rolls which he enjoyed. We also tried a squid geso which was alright . Would have been better with the traditional spice on it not the mayo they served it with. I would go back for the Salmon skin salad here .

The best avocado sushi I’ve ever had — and my absolute favorite noodle soup! Sadly, we moved away not long after this café opened, but we managed to visit a few times, and each time the food was incredibly delicious. I look back on this place with so much warmth. It’s my favorite spot in Seal Beach, hands down.

What is Sushi hama based upon a recommendation from a friend. I ordered the omakase dish and it had a selection of sushi which we're all fresh and delicious. My combination also came with some fried tempera, and that was delicious as well. Overall, very pleasant dining experience. And I would highly recommend it.

I’ve had a lot of sushi over the years, but Sushi Hama truly stands out. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the care they put into everything — the space is warm and inviting, with a calm, relaxed vibe that immediately sets the tone for a great dining experience. The sushi itself is outstanding. Every piece I tried was incredibly fresh — from the buttery salmon to the rich toro and delicately sweet scallop, each bite just melted in my mouth. You can tell they source their fish with intention and pride. What really impressed me was the sushi rice. It was seasoned perfectly — just the right balance of vinegar, slightly warm, and with that ideal texture that holds together without ever feeling dense or sticky. It’s something that often gets overlooked, but here, it shows how much the chef respects the craft. The rolls were creative but never overdone — beautifully presented and balanced in flavor. I highly recommend the albacore special and the crispy rice with spicy tuna. Even the appetizers, like the miso cod and garlic edamame, were memorable. What tied everything together was the service. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable, gave great recommendations, and you could feel that genuine hospitality that’s so rare these days. The chef even surprised us with a complimentary piece of sashimi that was probably one of the best bites of the night. Sushi Hama isn’t trying to be flashy — it’s just quietly excellent in every way that matters. Great food, great people, and a place you’ll want to return to again and again. This is the kind of spot you tell your friends about — after you’ve made your next reservation. (Food was so good that I forgot to take pictures… oops)

Here is my favorite sushi restaurant. First, the chef is friendly, and most importantly, the reasonably priced rolls and sushi are very satisfying. I ordered based on the server's recommendations, and overall, I was pleased with the dishes. Although I couldn't take a picture, you must try the langostino baked roll!!!
